We (me, my husband, and our four kids) live in a coastal town called Gig Harbor near Seattle, Washington.

The idea for the watercolor workbooks started with kids in mind. Simple outlined sketches they could paint with watercolors just like with crayons in a coloring book.

What was surprising was how many grown-ups took the books! Grandmothers painting with grandkids, girlfriends gathering together, young moms painting their books during naptime, first-time artists who needed something less intimidating than a blank page.

When we released our first watercolor workbooks a few years ago, they were the first wire bound, lay-flat watercolor workbooks to be sold anywhere.

When we launched our first spiral-bound, lay-flat watercolor workbooks a few years ago, they were the first of their kind to be sold anywhere. We designed them this way because painting on a page that isn’t laying flat makes everything harder, and we feel painting should be fun and easy.

We searched for two years to find the best watercolor paper. Our paper is made at one of the last remaining paper mills in the United States! It is a premium, custom, cold press, thick, bright white, textured watercolor paper that holds water without buckling and leaves you with vibrant colors when you’re done painting.

Easy-to-follow Instructions

Even if you’ve never painted anything before, our watercolor workbooks make it super easy to get started. You’ll find an example of a finished painting on the left, instructions on how to mix your colors, and guidelines for how to paint by following the lines of the simple sketch I’ve drawn for you on the right.
