Just Drop-and-Scan! The simplest way to scan a card. There is no need to insert cards through narrow input slots. Just drop the card into the wide scanning slot, and the camera automatically captures a clear image of the card. Easily scan and capture images of all kinds of thick or thin cards, including paper, plastic, or other thick rigid material.
No More Damaged Cards! This scanner will not damage thin or fragile cards. There are no moving parts. There are no clumsy rollers that drag the card document over scanning sensors. No more crunched up documents that get stuck between the scanning rollers.
Simplex scanner scans cards ONE SIDE at a time. The scanner is self-powered from the USB port; no external power is required. The scanner has a small footprint of only 5.2 x 4.5 inches, and fits easily into a small or limited desk space.
The included Scan-ID (full version) app scans, creates, and manages a searchable database of card images. It scans and AUTOMATICALLY READS DRIVER LICENSE information from the 2D barcodes printed on the back on most USA and Canadian licenses. For all other IDs, the data is MANUALLY keyed in. Automatic Age Verification feature checks the age of the person with user specified age requirements.
The included ScanToFile app scans directly to PDF, JPEG, TIF, and BMP formats. The app automatically saves scanned images to user specified folders on your PC or network.
Fully TWAIN compliant – works with hundreds of other scanning applications, including all electronic healthcare and medical practice management systems which support TWAIN. It is used industry wide to scan medical insurance cards, driver licenses, and other laminated IDs.
Dual-Side Scanning Technology. This patented technology enables any healthcare or other application to scan and display both the front and back of a document easily using TWAIN. The scanner scans both sides of a document, ONE SIDE at a time, and combines them into a single composite image. It then transfers the composite image to the application.
